This moonstone was hand collected in the coast mountains of BC Canada with nothing but hand tools. I also gave this specimen a nice face polish to show off the nice grey adularesence. It also contains some very tiny hematite inclusions creating a slight aventurescence effect at some angles.

Moonstone is a type of feldspar mineral that exhibits a unique and mesmerizing optical phenomenon known as adularescence. It is a translucent to transparent mineral with a colorless to white or pale grey body color, and the adularescence effect gives it an iridescent glow that appears to move across the stone's surface as it is viewed from different angles.

Moonstone is named after its resemblance to the glow of the moon, and it has been highly valued for centuries for its beauty and mystical properties. It is found in several locations around the world, including India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, and the United States.

In addition to its striking appearance, moonstone is believed to have several metaphysical properties. It is associated with the feminine energy of the moon and is said to promote emotional balance, intuition, and inner growth. It is also believed to be a stone of protection, especially during childbirth and travel.

Moonstone is a popular gemstone for jewelry due to its unique beauty and metaphysical properties. It is often used in rings, necklaces, and earrings, and is a popular choice for bohemian and mystical-inspired jewelry.

Overall, moonstone is a stunning and captivating gemstone that is highly valued for its unique optical phenomenon, mystical properties, and beauty. Its iridescent glow and association with the feminine energy of the moon make it an ideal choice for those seeking a gemstone that embodies mystery, magic, and enchantment.
